Glenda & Ralph Compton
Glenda Compton
An Apostle married 45 to husband Ralph, we have reared our 5 children and
many foster children. We are currently raising the child of one of our foster
daughters. We have 10 grandchildren.
I was blessed to be born into a Christian
family receiving Christ as my Lord and Saviour at age 8. Due to unfortunate
circumstances within the church we were attending we left for about three years
and I had walked away from the Lord but "praise God" for a Christian
doctor who took the time to minister to me while in hospital after surgery and
took me out to church were I recommitted my life to the Lord a have never looked
back.
I went back to the Uniting Church until 1986 when I was baptised in the
Holy Spirit, then went to several different Pentecostal churches, none of which
God would allow me to settle in, until 1990. At this point the Lord spoke to me
"to come out and sit at My feet and learn from Me". This was a six
year wilderness experience, very lonely but not alone as my constant companion
was the Lord, daily learning from Him.
Out of church but not out of fellowship, I held bible studies in my home and held ladies days in local hall also began
annual ladies camps in 1992 until 2001 when we started to hold conferences.
Having been called as an apostle in 1992, I was commissioned in 1998
and then set up our church called Cross Roads Ministries which is established in
Woodenbong N.S.W. I was ordained in 1999 and we are a member of Australian
Fellowship Faith Churches Ministers International.
My husband Ralph is my
strongest supporter in my work, he is always there in the background quietly
serving God never looking for recognition for what he does but I could not
accomplish all I do without his support.
